Czech Junior Open 2023 - 17 juniors in the super series tournament

The Czech Junior Open 2023, the permanent junior superseries tournament, will be held in Prague from January 19 to 22. Given the record number of participants, the most popular categories among boys started yesterday. The BU15 and BU17 categories have already completed the first three rounds.

In total, 17 domestic players from the total number of almost three hundred will play at the tournament in the Czech Republic, who will play for four days on the territory of the 3 sports centers Hector, SBC and Squash Point.

Athletes will compete for medals in ten age categories. According to the standings of the SS junior international tournament, 9 boys will represent Ukraine in individual competitions - Doroshenko Hlib (BU13), Yehor Shcherbakov (BU13), Bohdan Grebin (BU15), Khlus Mykyta (BU15), Artem Panchenko (BU15), Danylo Kurylyak ( BU17), Tokar Maksym (BU17), Tymofiy Radionov (BU19), Shcherbakov Dmytro (BU19); and 8 girls - Viktoriya Svivoplias (GU13), Anna Tarasova (GU13), Myroslava Sperchun (GU15), Aneti Siganevich (GU15), Darya Vlasenko (GU15), Hrystyna Begea (GU17), Velichko Milena (GU17), Zrazhevska Sofya (GU19).

The organizers of the tournament promise a live broadcast on playo.tv.

During the first competitive day, the categories of boys under 13, 15 and 17 years of age played their first matches at the tournament. Among them, the absolute victory in the first round was won by Doroshenko Glib, Khlus Mykyta and Panchenko Artem. Tokar Maksym, a member of the junior national team, also brought a double victory to Ukraine, beating his opponents in two matches. Unfortunately, Danylo Kurylyak, who played two sets on January 19, lost to his opponent in the second round.

On January 20, the rest of our team's players joined the five pioneers. The youngest player, Yehor Shcherbakov, was able to please with his results, the boy has two powerful victories and great chances for a prize place in his age category. Dmytro Scherbakov, the first seed in the category of boys under 19, confidently beat Timotej Jenko, not far behind his brother. The girls also joined the ranks of the winners of the second day of play: Anna Tarasova, the 3rd player of the European ranking, and Milena Velichko and Khrystyna Begeba, the 5th players, also have their first victories.

The rest of the players, in one way or another, conceded to their rivals and will continue to fight for the opportunity to play for places.
