Sponsors and sponsorships have played an important role in the success of not only individual tournaments, but also in the development of sports for many decades - from the World Games, which were broadcast by millions of users, to local club competitions, sponsors help Federations and Clubs to organize events on the world stage or at local level.
Without sponsors, many organizations would not be able to manage their sports, let alone compete in European competitions and develop their footprint internationally. The Squash Federation of Ukraine is no different, and we are looking for partnerships with businesses so that our athletes can go represent the country at the European Squash Championships in 2023. Our team aims to represent five national teams in four tournaments:
- Individual and Team European Championship among juniors up to 19 years old. April 1-09, 2023. Zurich, Switzerland
- European Women's Team Championship (3rd division). April 12-15, 2023. Gibraltar
- Men's European Team Championship (2nd division). April 26-29, 2023. Helsinki, Finland
- European Team Championship among juniors under 15 and under 17 years old. May 11-14, 2023. Prague, Czech Republic
As can be seen from previous experience, our national teams return from championships winning and winning places. Only last year, the men's national team of Ukraine took 2nd place at the European Championship, and the team of the junior national team under 17 years of age took 3rd place.
The European Championships in 2023 will be broadcast on the Internet platform of the competition organizers, as well as on the resources of the Squash Federation of Ukraine, which will include the dissemination of information on the website, social networks, and banner advertising. Games of our national team, interviews with players and coaches will also provide additional opportunities for sponsors.
The main task now facing the squash community is to find funds for holding the European championships and to have time to pay the fees for four tournaments by January 31.
"I hope my appeal before the New Year holidays was heard. For me, as a representative of the federation, it is important to draw people's attention to the need to join associate members now. Maybe we will be lucky and we will find potential sponsors. Skylight helped us last year. The Federation managed to collect about 60,000 euros. I believe that we will send our athletes to competitions even now. For example, our boys have been going to the European Men's Championship for 9 years and have shown excellent results, so we have no right to lose it. There is help from the Ministry of Sports. We will be allocated money, but, unfortunately, it is not enough for the international level."
How much money is needed to send national teams to the European Championship at the appropriate level?
50 thousand euros. This is the minimum amount. This year we were allocated UAH 500,000, we will be able to receive this money only for reporting documents after returning from the competition. All the rest falls on sponsors, as well as patrons who are ready to invest in the development of squash.
How can I contribute? 3 ways not to lose the results of our athletes due to the war.
Associate membership. The size of the entrance fee is UAH 500/year, which will significantly increase our chances of participating in European competitions.
To do this, you need to fill out an application for admission and make an annual contribution in the amount of UAH 500.
